Balgowlah is on Sydney's northern beaches and has some fabulous spots to visit close by.


Manly Village Markets are on on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 8am to 4pm.

Cinema:   

The closest is Hoyts Warringah Mall or Cremorne Orpheum.  I can get discounted Hoyts tickets for $12 through my service provider (not for Saturday night though), just ask if you want me to book for you (regular price is $21.50 Adult /$13 senior). 

Cremorne Orpheum is a gorgeous old fashioned art deco era cinema, which serves drinks and has the original Wurlitzer organ rise from the stage with an organist, check website for those sessions & details.
                        

Transport:

Opal Card for public transport (covers State bus, train and ferry) : Buy at the newsagent in Stockland Shopping Centre or ask me as I sometimes have them.

Bus Stops for the city, wharf and beach are on Sydney Road, turn left out of the driveway, Sydney Road is the cross Street at the first set of lights.

Hop Skip and Jump: Free bus to Manly outside Stockland Shopping Centre on Condamine Street

Ride Plus: Public Transport buses on demand, door to door to local stations, Manly Wharf, Warringah Mall, Dee Why and Queenscliff : www.ride-plus.com.au$3.10 from our house to the wharf. (Need to pre book an hour at least in advance)

Post Office:

There are two close by post offices, Balgowlah is within walking distance 9/318 Sydney Road, or Balgowlah Heights 69 New Street W, (usually quieter and easy to park).

Shopping:

Local shops are Balgowlah, Stockland Mall and Sydney Road. (cafes, restaurants, clothing, supermarket etc.). 

Other small shopping areas are Seaforth, Sydney Road and Balgowlah Heights, New Street W and Beatrice Street.  

Shopping Centres:

Stockland Balgowlah (8 minute walk)

The Corso in Manly, surf shops, pubs, cafes, news agency, library, boutiques, markets, 5 minute drive, 30 minute walk.

Warringah Mall - large, Westfield shopping centre with cinema and library - 15 minute drive north on Condamine Street, Brookvale.

Chatswood - 2 large shopping Centres, Chatswood Chase and Chatswood Westfield.  Anderson Street, Chatswood.  25 minutes drive or an hour by bus. Great Asian environment in surrounding streets with excellent Asian food options, yum cha etc.

Pitt Street Mall & QVB in the city, 30 minutes by ferry and 14 minutes walk or 40 minutes by bus.
